This is our Introductory Hong Kong 101 Crash Course to the most classic, and quintessentially Hong Kong foods that you must-try before leaving Hong Kong, all in 3.5 hours. It’s a well known secret amongst us locals that Sham Shui Po is a food haven, (also the poorest district in Hong Kong) and now we’re letting you in on the secret. Shhhhh.
Highlights include a meander through a busy wet market, a Chinese Herbalist visit, and a demonstration of how wonton noodles get made with a bamboo pole. Of course, the food will be epic: HK style BBQ meats, wonton noodles, milk tea & dessert, egg waffles, and Michelin starred dimsum.
This walking food tour is ideal for travellers with little to no exposure to Hong Kong foods. We handpick our local mom & pop shops, build rapport with them so you don’t have to waste time & calories eating touristy bad food. The address closest to our meeting location is 133 Pei Ho Street, Sham Shui Po. From there you have to walk about 100m to the MTR station, exit A2.

The most convenient way. Sham Shui Po MTR station is on the Tsuen Wan (red) line. If you’re at Central, just ride the Tsuen Wan MTR (red) line all the way to Sham Shui Po MTR station, about 20 mins.
TOUR CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

We require a minimum of 2 guests to run the tour. If min. numbers are not met 48 hours prior to the tour, you’ll be notified via email, and the full refund and final confirmation will be sent via email to you 24 hours prior to the tour date and time.

This tour was so much fun. Our guide took us to local places that we would not have tried or known about. The tour was a great mix of food and cultural information and Whampoa was a lovely neighbourhood to do this in! Our guide was a fantastic guide, was very helpful, chatty and answered all of our additional questions. She’s a hit with the locals as well – I loved to see her bantering with them all.
