This is Hong Kong’s first and original Local Craft Beer Brewery Tour! Drink like an on-trend local. Craft beer has exploded onto the scene of Hong Kong these past 3 years so it’s a great time for your taste buds to try some local brews. Though there is a lot of beer drinking to be done, but we will also be learning about each of the local breweries & what beer they’re known for. The venues that we will be visiting have especially been curated to be different in terms of size and personality, from smaller family-run breweries, to one of Hong Kong’s biggest craft beer breweries, to even a homebrew supplier/bottle shop or a brewpub, in order to give you an overall flavour of the Hong Kong craft beer scene.
In the 3.5 hours, we’ll be visiting 3 places that brew beer & you’ll be able to taste at least 14 different craft beers, each around 100ml in size. Our venues are different on each tour depending on the breweries’ availability, etc. & the schedule is only confirmed about 1 week prior to the tour. This Local Craft Beer Brewery Tour is designed for exploration of the craft beer scene in Hong Kong and you’ll be able to get insider tips, to sample limited editions or one-off brews, VIP & behind the scenes access into the breweries, to meet the owners or brewmasters and their journey & story behind the beers, and to learn about the grain to glass beer process.

GETTING THERE
TAXI
There is no exact address; it’s just the Wong Chuk Hang MTR station, Exit A. Meet on the footbridge above. Make sure it’s Exit A & not B as they’re on the same street. Please show your taxi driver the Chinese address:
黃竹坑港鐵站 . 香葉道, A出口. 巴士站.
Always get a receipt as it has the taxi’s info.
MTR
The most convenient way. Wong Chuk Hang MTR station is just 20 mins by MTR from Central. Wong Chuk Hang is located on the South Island (lime) line. From the Admiralty MTR station, accessible by both the Tsuen Wan (red) line & the Hong Kong Island (blue) line, transfer to the South Island (lime) line, & it’s 3 stops to Wong Chuk Hang.
OTHER TRANSPORT
Wong Chuk Hang is easily accessible by minibuses (the green or the red variety) & buses. We do feel that unless you are a seasoned pro, it’s probably easiest to take the MTR, which is the way we recommend getting to Wong Chuk Hang. On the ground traffic in Hong Kong is a bit of a hit-or-miss.
TOUR CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
REQUIRED MINIMUM NUMBERS
We require a minimum of 2 guests to run the tour. If min. numbers are not met 48 hours prior to the tour, you’ll be notified via email, and the full refund and final confirmation will be sent via email to you 24 hours prior to the tour date and time.
REFUND POLICY
Sometimes plans change – we get it. We also have a minimum numbers requirement in place so our refund policy is as flexible and fair as we can make it without disrupting our vendors and other guests due to refunds. This tour was so much fun. Our guide took us to local places that we would not have tried or known about. The tour was a great mix of food and cultural information and Whampoa was a lovely neighbourhood to do this in! Our guide was a fantastic guide, was very helpful, chatty and answered all of our additional questions. She’s a hit with the locals as well – I loved to see her bantering with them all.

If you love food and you want to get off the well-worn tourist trails, then Humid with a Chance of Fishballs should be your first choice. My husband had his ‘villains hit’ by one of the infamous ‘cursing grannies’, before we boarded a tram and travelled to our Sampan boat for delicious shellfish, including the re-nowed ‘Typhoon Shelter Crab’. The next day our guide guided us to one of the oldest dim sum restaurants in town, taught us how to get a seat – no, really, you’ve never done this before, I promise you! No easy feat, I can assure you!

UNIQUE & AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES!
After a quick introduction we turned a few corners and found ourselves in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the back alleys of Hong Kong. Amidst a myriad of different food options she seems to be able to find the ones that offer that little bit extra.
Our guide seemed to have a genuinely great rapport with the hawkers and food stall owners we visited. If you’re looking for a genuine, authentic urban experience, we can definitely recommend going on this food tour. All we suggest is you bring an open mind and a healthy appetite; there’s going to be plenty of food and some of it will have you talking about it till late in the evening.
